Town of Caledon Announces New Chief Financial Officer

Ron Kaufman, Director of Corporate Services, Chief Financial Officer and Deputy CAO will officially be retiring from the Town of Caledon on June 30, 2014. Ron has been with the Town since 2008 working to transform the finances of the organization, leading in accountability and to process changes to benefit the citizens of the Town. Long-term planning and accurate and timely reporting are hallmarks of Ron’s leadership. His financial reporting and budget processes have been awarded for their professionalism, accountability and accessibility, and he currently sits as Past President of the Municipal Finance Officers’ Association. A genuine thank you is extended to Ron for his commitment to public service not only here at the Town of Caledon but throughout his career.

Fuwing Wong will move from his current role as Treasurer to become the Town’s Director of Corporate

Services and Chief Financial Officer, effective July 2, 2014. Fuwing started with the Town of Caledon in 2009 after spending time as a Manager of Financial Planning in the health care field and in municipal government, and as a financial auditor and analyst in private industry. Fuwing is a Certified General

Accountant (CGA) and holds a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Waterloo in Chartered Accountancy Studies.

Mary Hall has been appointed Deputy CAO, effective July 2, 2014 as well. This addition to Mary’s portfolio will complement her responsibilities as Director of Development Approval and Planning Policy (DAPP). Mary has been with the Town of Caledon since 1995, when she started as a Community Development Planner.
