NEW DETACHMENT COMMANDER – CALEDON OPP

(CALEDON, ON) – January 6th, 2014 marked the first day of leadership change at the Caledon Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP). Interim Detachment Commander Dom Beckett has been serving in the role since September 2013 and is passing the torch to Inspector Tim Melanson, former Operations Manager at the Nottawasaga OPP Detachment.

“Inspector Tim Melanson brings 27 years of police service and a wide cross section of policing experience to his new role. Inspector Melanson’s leadership and the depth of his policing experience will be of great benefit to the Caledon Detachment” says Inspector Dom Beckett.

Inspector Tim Melanson is pleased to take on the leadership role at the Caledon Detachment. “I look forward to working closely with the Town of Caledon, the Mayor and council and the residents of this community. Having been an integral part of a neighbouring community, I feel that my experience and knowledge will be of great benefit and I am looking forward to new challenges”.

Inspector Melanson replaces Superintendent Rose DiMarco who served as Caledon’s Detachment Commander from June 2009 until September 2013.
