Caledon Distribution Centre to Benefit Regional Economy

Ontario Government Helping Protect and Create Over 1,400 Jobs

Ontario is helping to establish a retail distribution centre in Caledon to create new economic opportunities for the community and strengthen the Greater Toronto Area’s economy.

At the request of the Region of Peel and the Town of Caledon, a Minister’s Zoning Order has been made to allow the development of an upgraded Canadian Tire warehouse distribution centre in Caledon to replace an existing centre in Brampton. This will allow Canadian Tire to start construction this year.

The new facility is expected to create about 350 construction jobs and up to 110 permanent new jobs, and will retain 1,000 existing jobs from the aging Brampton distribution centre. It is consistent with both the region’s and the town’s…
