(CALEDON, ON) – On Sunday, July 14, 2013 shortly after 1 am, officers from the Caledon Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were patrolling the Village of Bolton when they stopped to check on the welfare of a female who was seated on a park bench. The female stood to speak to the officers at which time they observed her to be unsteady on her feet. The female spoke to the officers with a slurred speech. As a result of the officer’s observations, the female was arrested for Public Intoxication. While handcuffing the female, the female kicked the arresting officer five times. The female was transported to the Caledon Detachment and held in custody until sober.
In conclusion, Andrea BRUMMELL, 44, of Caledon was arrested and charged with Assault a Peace Officer and was issued a Provincial Offences Notice for Being Intoxicated in a Public Place.
The accused is scheduled to make her first appearance at the Ontario Court of Justice in Orangeville on August 29, 2013
