(CALEDON, ON) – On Saturday, July 13, 2013 at 1:35 am, a citizen contacted police to report an erratic driver in the area of Airport Road and Healey Road. Officers from the Caledon Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to the area and located the suspect vehicle. The officers observed the vehicle and observed that it was being operated in an erratic manner. The officers stopped the vehicle to determine the driver’s sobriety. Upon speaking with the male driver, the officers immediately detected a strong odour of alcohol on the driver’s breath. With the assistance of the officers, the driver exited the vehicle and officers observed that he was unsteady on his feet. As a result, the male driver was arrested.
Once the investigation was completed, Mohinderpal SANDHU, 65, of Brampton was arrested and charged with Impaired Operation of a Motor Vehicle, Over 80 milligrams of Alcohol, Drive while Disqualified and Dangerous Operation of a Motor Vehicle.
The Administrative Drivers’ Licence Suspension (ADLS) program was initiated and his motor vehicle was impounded for seven days.
The accused was held in custody and will make his first appearance at the Ontario Court of Justice later this date.
