Town of Caledon Celebrates Two-Year Countdown to the TORONTO 2015 Pan American Games

Today is an exciting day for the Town of Caledon and its surrounding equestrian community as they celebrate the two-year countdown to the TORONTO 2015 Pan American Games.

The celebration taking place at the Caledon Pan Am Equestrian Park (Caledon Equestrian Park) will pay tribute to the equestrian component of the Games. The Town has been selected to host the dressage, eventing and show jumping components of the Games at the Caledon Pan Am Equestrian Park in 2015. Activities at the countdown event will include a Pan Am flag presentation, mural unveiling and an equestrian demonstration by Olympian and 2003 Pan Am Games medalist Jacqueline Brooks.

“As we get closer to hosting the Pan Am Games equestrian competitions, the Town is excited to continue celebrating this wonderful opportunity with our community and partners,” said Mayor Marolyn Morrison. “We hope the public will join us at the Caledon Pan Am Equestrian Park to kick off the two-year countdown.”

Similar countdown celebrations will be taking place in ten municipalities across southern Ontario today. Michael Chan, Minister of Tourism, Culture and Sport and Minister Responsible for the 2015 Pan and Parapan American Games, explained this is a proud moment for the province. “These Games have the potential to deliver significant economic and social benefits to all in Ontario and will allow us to showcase the rich diversity of our province while leaving a lasting legacy for future generations,” said Chan.

This free celebration will take place from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at the Caledon Pan Am Equestrian Park (Caledon Equestrian Park), located at 200 Pine Avenue in Caledon. For more information, please visit http://www.caledon.ca/panam.
