(CALEDON, ON) – The Caledon Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is investigating a motor vehicle collision which occurred on Saturday, July 6th at approximately 8:43 pm involving a car and motorcycle. The collision occurred at Airport Road north of Perdue Court in the Town of Caledon. Upon police arrival, the operator of the motorcycle had fled the scene on foot. Police immediately set up containment in the area and searched for the male operator. Police were unsuccessful in locating the operator of the 2000 blue Yamaha motorcycle.
Preliminary investigation into the collision would reveal that the operator was travelling southbound on Airport Road at a high rate of speed when he performed a “wheelie”. The operator lost control of the motorcycle which resulted in his motorcycle landing on the roof of a gray Toyota that was also travelling southbound in front of him. The driver of the Toyota suffered a minor injury and did not require medical attention at the time of the collision. The motorcycle was totalled at the scene of the collision.
